West MIddle Takes the Plunge

Students and staff at Fort Zumwalt West Middle have created an atmosphere of student driven giving and community involvement. Their efforts have raised money and awareness for many causes, but this month the school will be the first ever to make their own Polar Plunge for Special Olympics.

West Middle School Principal Dan McQuerrey mentioned several student organizations that focus on community involvement, National Junior Honor Society and Student Council among them. You might be less familiar with Trend, which stands for “Turning Resources and Energy into New Directions.” Students in this group discuss and plan activities that focus on a drug-free lifestyle. Builders Club is affiliated with Kiwanis and provides opportunities for students to work together in service.
